Teams with a BYE during week 9: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia
Quarterback:
Drew Lock – Broncos at Falcons – 1:00 P.M. EST
Available in 80% of Yahoo Leagues and 86% of ESPN Leagues
Lock is coming off a three touchdown performance against the Chargers in Week 8. Lock was 26/41 with 248 passing yards with 3 Touchdowns and 1 Interception in the comeback victory vs. the Chargers. He gets the Falcons defense in Week 9 which has been very generous to Quarterbacks this season. Lock spread the wealth between Hamilton, Jeudy and Fant in Week 8, and should be getting Tim Patrick back as well in Week 9.
Derek Carr – Raiders at Chargers – 4:05 P.M. EST
Available in 58% of Yahoo Leagues and 51% of ESPN Leagues
Derek Carr is coming off a slow performance vs. the Browns. The Raiders focused on the rushing attack in Week 8 and the team had 45 carries for 209 yards. The Raiders focus will switch back to the passing game as they take on Herbert and the Chargers. Carr has thrown two or more touchdowns in 5 of his 7 games this season, and the Chargers Radiers matchup could end up being a shootout. Carr sits in the top 12 for QB Touchdown passes this season.
Running Back:
Wayne Gallman – Giants at Washington – 1:00 P.M. EST
Available in 78% of Yahoo Leagues and 81% of ESPN Leagues
Gallman has had double digit carries and a touchdown in each of the past two games for the Giants. Freeman will be out again this week so Gallman should continue to see a lot of work this weekend. It is a tough matchup against Washington, but the volume will be there for Gallman.
Brian Hill – Falcons vs. Broncos – 1:00 P.M. EST
Available in 87% of Yahoo Leagues and 91% of ESPN Leagues
Hill has seen double digit touches in two of his last three games for the Falcons. Hill finished with 13 touches against the Chargers and ended up with more rushing yards than Gurley on 7 less carries. Hill is also seeing work in the passing game as well. If you are in need of a running back in Week 9, Hill could be a good option as his work load increases. Hill is also a good add to your roster for the future as he increases his work load and eats into Gurley’s carries.
Wide Receiver:
Randall Cobb – Texans at Jaguars – 1:00 P.M. EST
Available in 80% of Yahoo Leagues and 81% of ESPN Leagues
Cobb is coming off an 8 reception 95 yard performance against the Packers in Week 8. Cobb is hit or miss week to week, but is still decently involved with the Texans offense each week. He has a great matchup against the Jaguars this week, and has earned the trust of Watson as a reliable receiver.
Jakobi Meyers – Patriots at Jets – Monday 8:15 P.M. EST
Available in 93% of Yahoo Leagues and 96% of ESPN Leagues
Meyers has had 10 receptions on 16 targets in the past two weeks. Meyers has stepped up for the Patriots with Edelman and Harry both out. Meyers led the Patriots in targets, receptions and yardage in Week 8, and should have an active Week 9 vs. the 0-8 Jets.
Tight End:
Logan Thomas – Washington vs. Giants – 1:00 P.M. EST
Available in 63% of Yahoo Leagues and 84% of ESPN Leagues
Thomas has had over 40 receiving yards and a Touchdown in his last two games. Unless you have Kelce on your roster, the Tight End position has not been very reliable this season. Thomas is a good option to see targets for the Washington Football Team as a Week 9 streaming option.
Trey Burton – Colts vs. Ravens – 1:00 P.M. EST
Available in 77% of Yahoo Leagues and 88% of ESPN Leagues
Burton has seen a lot of action for the Colts Offense since coming back from injury and he has scored a rushing touchdown in each of the last two weeks. With Burtons usage through the air and at the goal line, he is a viable tight end option in Week 9.
